We have arrived!
After hours in the bus, a Rockies
game, countless games of “I Have Never” and UNO, a broken air conditioner,
plenty of rest stops, and sleeping on a church floor—we have made it to
Timberline Lodge. We are here. We are safe. We are happy.
Ready for the ride! |
On our way to Timberline, we
stopped off at Valley Free church in Iowa where Joe Budish and other church
members served us a fabulous lunch. With full stomachs and stretched legs, we
continued on our journey. After a broken air conditioner on Heather's bus (we had it
fixed the next day…it "added to the experience"according to Brynn Meyer), we stopped in Nebraska at Third City Christian Church. Here we
were able to have our first worship session, cabin bonding and hear a set of
testimonies from the leaders. After waking up the following day at 6 a.m., we were
back on our way to Colorado.
But of course we had to stop and
cheer on the Colorado Rockies! The Project Colorado group was able to get on
the large screen not once, but twice! Even though the Rockies lost to the
Mariners, we enjoyed beautiful weather and a great experience together.
Enjoying the Rockies game! |
We made our
way through the mountains to Timberline Lodge and greeted by the absolutely
incredible staff here. They carried our bags to our rooms and we got settled
into our new homes for the next two weeks.
At Timberline Lodge! |
This
morning, we got up, had breakfast and then headed out to do our first work
projects and adventures! We were blessed
with beautiful blue skies and sunshine. Tomorrow, we will continue to serve the
community here and grow together as a group. It is so exciting to see this
group of students already growing together.
We have
felt and appreciate all your prayers!! Thank you so much for all the support
back home.
